🤩 What bibles do you read?
Reading new books are overrated
Did you know Bill Gates reportedly reads 1 new book a week?
Whoopteeefreeaking-doooo!
Have any of you or any of your friends made a resolution, New Year's or otherwise, to read more new books?
Reading is one of the most lauded forms of procrastination that exists.
I'm not talking about "beach" or "something light before bed" reading.
I'm talking about that "self-help" or "how to do X in business" type books.
Should you read books?
Yes.
Should you keep reading new books?
No.
Find a few books that speak to you. Make those books your bible. One can literally be the Bible or Koran if you wish. But these books should be experienced over and over and over again.
Every book I have is in Kindle and Audible format. I usually listen to my books on Audible at 2X speed and then make notes in the Kindle version.
If you're truly trying to master something or become a professional, there is no way you can read a book once. You need to put what you learn into practice. Then read the book (or part of it) again, so you can apply your new experiences to it.
Repeat that cycle.
I listen to a new book every other month. Every week (or sometimes every day) I'm re-reading books that are biblical to me.
Choose a religion, choose your books and execute.
