"Selling out" is for losers
Last night I became aware that a "DeLorean Historian" is a job.
Yes, apparently that is a thing! (My guidance counselor sold me short.)
Tamir Ardon is the first "DeLorean Historian" that I've ever come across. I think I've seen every documentary on John DeLorean and don't recall seeing Tamir's name until I watched "Framing John DeLorean" in which Tamir is frequently featured throughout.
When I found his 1999-based website, it is clear that he is in love with the DeLorean car. However, when comparing his site to his current LinkedIn profile, I don't believe that his love is what is paying his bills.
Looking all the way back to his undergraduate days, he does seem to have a bill-paying obsession with the process of packaging and selling motion video content.
Often creatives get scolded for "selling out" because they trade in their time and skills for money.
Don't let those voices (inside or outside your head) talk you out of building a process that you love.
Don't let the social pressures that inherently exist talk you out of investing in yourself to enjoy most of your days in this world.
Build the process (and it never stops adapting) that you love so you don't kiss your life goodbye.
