When's the last time you picked up the phone?

Picture This

You're driving in your car listening to your favorite song or podcast (shameless plug 😁).

Your tone quickly changes from one of joy to shock, bewilderment, curiosity, and maybe a little anger.

Why did this happen?

Because you just got a call on your phone from a random number that you don't recognize on the same "phone" that you're listening to your favorite content on.

As of Q1-2021, 85% of Americans have a smartphone.

One question I frequently ask CEO/Founders and supporting staff is, "How did you use your phone today?"

I ask everyone in the room so the CEO clearly understands it doesn't matter at which level the target persona is at...

Nobody is picking up their phone for a "random."

Before I illustrate this example to them, they assume traditional cold calling and outbound prospecting is going to "win the day."

It wins part of the day but you have to win in other channels too.

As Ian Lurie would say, "One trick ponies get shot."
